Jameson Select Reserve – Tasting Notes

Jameson about the Select Reserve…

“It may have taken 232 years to get here, but we’re sure you’ll agree this spirit was worth the wait. It all began when our masters carefully selected a high proportion of Irish pot still whiskey and a rare small batch grain whiskey, and left it to mature in flame-charred bourbon barrels. As the whiskey matured, it developed aromatic notes of charred wood, deep spices and exotic fruit to create the unmistakable rich and smooth Jameson Select Reserve taste.”

Had a taste of this one in the #IrishWhiskey Twitter Tasting organized by Steve Rush from The Whisky Wire. Out of the line up, this was one of my favorites concerning price and the notes I got of this one.

Coconut, fresh, sweet, fruits, mango, pineapple, applesauce, vanilla, white pepper, honey. Mango sorbet ice with chocolate chips, and mint. Papaya, kiwi, butterscotch, liqeurish, banana, custard, cocoa butter.

Cinnamon, cocoa, fruits, tropical sweet, honey comb, custard, lemon, green apples, smooth, creamy, melon, fudge, nuts and mint

Medium to long finish, nice balance of spice and sweet tropical fruitiness. Notes of mint and lime in the back. Feels a bit like a lush desert. Balanced and finishes in cinnamon and cocoa notes

7,5 out of 10. This one grows on you the more you nose and taste it for sure.
