The Maltman – Ben Nevis 21 year old

In October of this year the Maltman released a new expression distilled at the Ben Nevis distillery in May 1995 and bottled after 21 years in a bourbon cask #311 at 49,7% cask strength. On the nose I am getting loads of sweet vanilla, nougat, tutti frutti and powdered sugar notes but also a soft note that reminds me of hobby glue. But not in a way that it is bothering me and fades a bit with time.

On the palate some more fruity notes appear giving me ripe banana, red apple, pear juice, plums, vanilla, raisin, vigs and a hint of marzipan. It is a soft and not too long finish with just a little bit of baking spices detectable in it. Thanks for sharing a sample Andy!
