Door 16 of the Bourbon Advent Calendar of Drinks by the Dram is a sample of Larceny bourbon bottled at 46%. On the nose I find creamy notes of vanilla, citrus, red apple and dried vigs. There is something that reminds me of toast with salty butter on it and ginger, red pepper balls, roasted fennel, soft wood and walnut. A not overpowering but more creamy nose.
On the palate it starts at first with a stronger bitter tone of wood and nuts, but the sweeter and creamier notes take over again quickly and balancing it out again for a short time until it fades out in a short finish. Next to what I found on the nose I can detect some black berry, black current, banana, liquorish root, hint of green apple and crumbly pears. This one has me not convinced fully yet but it is an interesting one. Thanks Drinks by the Dram for sharing a sample!
