Säntis Malt – Dreifaltigkeit

From Säntis comes a smoky expression called Dreifaltigkeit, matured in old oak beer casks and bottled at 52%. On the nose I can find warm notes of a burning fire, a soft note of ashes and smoke, old crumbly parchment, pencil shavings, blackcurrant, cherry, honey and a warm fruit sauce presented next to a good roast. A pleasant and warm nose.

On the palate warm fire place notes again combined with notes of malt, caramel syrup, raisins, creamy vanilla, soft white pepper and half burned up logs in the fireplace. A medium length finish with soft warm notes of powdered sugar, raisin bread, dried apricots and chocolate covered strawberries. Great combination of flavours. Thanks Urs Dähler for sharing a sample of this Säntis Malt!
