Scott’s Selection – North of Scotland – single grain – 1964/2008

From the Scott’s Selection comes a bottling ‘North of Scotland’, a single grain distilled in 1964 and bottled in 2008 at cask strength 44,8%. A beauty on the nose with flavours of powdered sugar, creamy vanilla, raspberry, baklava and Victorian sponge cake. Marzipan, plums and ginger cake flavours follow right after that with a soft floral note and a hint of oak spices in the back.

The palate shows me notes of warm creamy toffee, hot chili pepper, chocolate mouse, pear drops, cherry, cranberry, red apple, vanilla and rose pedals. A soft fruity middle length finish with a fresh mint and citrus freshness in the back. Great dram! Thanks Werner for sharing!
