That Boutique-y Gin Company released a first batch of their Cherry Gin bottled at 42,6%. A gin that has a very liquorish sweet cherry note on the nose like cherry bubblegum lollipops, but that was to be expected with them adding marasca cherries and some spices to a classic gin in the production. Next to these strong fruity notes I can find creamy vanilla, powdered sugar, raspberry, strawberry, jam donuts, pastry and honey on the nose. Behind the summer fruit sweetness there is fresh orange juice and lemon present.
The palate is much like the nose and gives again a feeling of lollipops with bubblegum but now turned into liquid form. A very sticky sweet gin with a honeyed finish. Adding Fever-Tree tonic to it makes the summer fruit mix more balanced but also releases stronger herbal and citrus notes. But the cherry feeling like cola sweetness does not go away and even with loads of tonic added it comes to the front too strongly. This gin is too sweet for me, but if you like cherry sweetness then you should for sure check this one out! Thanks That Boutique-y Gin Company for sharing a sample to explore!
